enaio® mobile
enaio® mobile is the modified enaio® webclient application for touchscreen devices such as tablets, smartphones, or touch-sensitive monitors.
There are the following differences between enaio® webclient and enaio® mobile due to technological limitations and other options under Android and iOS:
The preview area undock function is not supported in enaio® mobile.
See also The Preview Area.
enaio® mobile does not support special login procedures such as Keycloak, which is supported by enaio® webclient and enaio® webclient as a desktop application.
Once you have successfully logged in to enaio® mobile, your login data will automatically be saved as a profile on the device. You can use the saved profiles in the Profile field the next time you log in on the same device. If you select a profile, then you only have to enter your password manually into the login form (see Logging In Using enaio® mobile).
enaio® mobile does not support changing the width of dialog boxes on smartphones and only to a limited extent on tablets (see Resizing Dialog Windows).
enaio® mobile does not support the use of dashlets.
The handling and editing of exported documents in enaio® mobile differs somewhat from the handling in enaio® webclient (see Editing Document Content).
The export function in the content preview is not supported in enaio® mobile (see Preview Annotations).
The drag-and-drop function is not supported in enaio® mobile.
enaio® mobile supports the storage of documents that were created using various local apps, independent of enaio®, and that were transferred to enaio® mobile for future storage in the enaio® filing system (see External Tray).
Unlike enaio® webclient, enaio® mobile must be installed. The app is available through the Google and Apple app stores. Information on enaio® mobile can be found in Installing enaio® mobile.
enaio® mobile supports the opening of internal references (*.os reference files). You can use internal references to access documents, index data, and filing locations, or to execute or accept saved searches (see Internal References (*.os Reference Files)).
-
The context menu can be opened in enaio® mobile by pressing and holding the cursor over an entry in an object list (for example, in a hit list, in a filing location, in the favorites area).
-
The context menu can also be opened on smartphones by clicking the More actions icon found on each line.
-
In enaio® mobile the Show index data function is no longer available in the context menu. It is replaced by the Show object function. This was done following the roll-out of the new single touch functionality that is designed to speed up work.
In contrast to enaio® webclient and enaio® webclient as a desktop application, the enaio® mobile does support not editing documents with the enaio® office-365-dashlet.
enaio® mobile supports working in offline mode. To do this, the objects (folders, registers, documents) that you want to be available offline must first be tagged as favorites and transferred to the local device using the Synchronizing function (see enaio® webclient in Offline Mode). The Offline tab is available in the settings dialog to activate or deactivate the synchronization function.
The Synchronization column is not displayed on smartphones. Synchronization information is displayed in the list of synchronized objects below the entries.
See also Synchronizing Objects and Making Them Available Offline.
Due to limited screen space, static columns in object lists (e.g., in hit lists, at filing locations, in the variant administration, and elsewhere) are hidden on smartphones. Likewise, the setting options for the static columns are not displayed in the user menu.
The display changes if the screen of the mobile device is less than 420 pixels in width or height.
See also Changing How Static Columns Are Displayed in Object Lists.
Working with multiple tabs open in a browser and in enaio® webclient as a desktop application as many people like to do is not supported in enaio® mobile.
enaio® mobile does not support keyboard shortcuts.
-
The "Go to start" (Home key) and "Go to end" (End key) functions used in hit lists, for example, are not supported in enaio® mobile.
-
The "Page Up" (PgUp) and "Page Down" (PgDn) functions used in hit lists, for example, are not supported in enaio® mobile.
-
Checkboxes are used to select multiple entries in hit lists.
-
Object lists can be refreshed using the "pull-to-refresh" gesture. To do this, scroll to the top of the object list, tap on the list, and pull it down using your finger. A Refresh icon appears on the display, while at the same time the object list is refreshed.
The following applies if you are using enaio® mobile on a smartphone:
-
On a smartphone a truncated object list is displayed due to the limited screen space available on the device.
The display changes if the screen of the mobile device is less than 420 pixels in width or height.
-
It is not possible to adjust the column width or sort and group in object lists on smartphones.
-
On smartphones, static columns in object Lists are hidden due to space constraints.
-
Text excerpts (Preview column) and the hit quality (Quality column) are not shown in the hit lists of full-text searches.
-
It is not possible to select multiple entries in hit lists on smartphones.
-
The context menu can be opened by clicking the More actions icon found on each line. It can also be opened by pressing an entry and holding it in the hit list.
-
The filter input field is hidden on a smartphone due to limited screen space available on the device. Tapping the Filter icon opens the filter input field.
-
The Refresh function can be found in the More actions menu in the hit list title bar.
-
The Reset layout function is not available on smartphones.
The display of tooltips is not supported in enaio® mobile.
