Internal Links
You can add links to documents, registers, and folders. Links are cross-references to other documents, registers, or folders.
-
Highlighting of links
If you have linked two objects, they will both be marked with a Link icon in the static columns of object lists (for example, in hit lists, at filing locations, or in workflow files) (see Static columns). The number of linked objects is shown in the tooltip of the link.
Please note that static columns may be hidden. You can find information on how to show and hide static columns in Changing How Static Columns Are Displayed in Object Lists.
The following applies if you are using enaio® mobile on a smartphone:
On smartphones with a display size of under 420 pixels, objects with links are not marked.
-
Links to or between portfolios
Links to and between portfolios are not supported in enaio® webclient, enaio® webclient as a desktop application, and enaio® mobile. Portfolios can only be created, edited, and linked in enaio® client.
-
Link texts
Links can be provided with a link text. The link text of both objects can be opened and edited again afterwards.
In enaio®, the administrator can specify whether link texts are filed in the file system or in the database. If link texts are filed in the file system, then in enaio® webclient and in enaio® mobile
-
no dialog for entering links is shown when creating one or more link texts.
-
the column for link text is not shown in the overview of Locations, links, and references.
-
the edit function for link texts is not available.
-
Creating a Link
You can create links using the Link object feature in the context menu. You can link objects in various object lists with one another (for example, in hit lists, at locations, in the favorites area, or in workflow files). You can also create links across cabinets.
This feature is not available in offline mode or for typeless objects.
-
Select an object (document, register, or folder) you want to link (e.g., in a hit list, in the inbox, or at a filing location).
-
Open the context menu.
-
Click or tap on the Copy icon.
-
Switch to the object (the document, folder, or register, for example) that you want to link with the copied object and select it. The object can, for example, be in its original location or a different one, in a workflow file, or in the favorites area.
-
Open the context menu.
-
Click or tap on the Insert icon.
The subcontext menu containing various storage options will open.
-
Click or tap on Link object in the subcontext menu.
The Link text input form will open.
Your administrator can configure the system such that link texts are filed on the hard drive. This means that link texts in enaio® webclient and in enaio® mobile cannot be shown, which is why the entry dialog for link texts is not shown either.
-
Enter a link text into the input form and then click or tap on the Save icon.
The link is created.
Both of the selected objects are marked with a Link icon in object lists. For objects that are already linked to other objects, the number of links in the tooltips is increased.
Editing a Link
Link texts in the Locations, links, and references overview display can be edited again afterwards. Open the overview display by selecting the object, the link text of which you want to edit, and clicking on tapping on the Locations, links, and references feature in the context menu.
The overview display lists all of the locations, reference documents, and links of the object that you selected (see Overview of all Filing Locations, Links, and References).
To edit the link text, select the corresponding link in the overview display and call up the Edit link text feature in the context menu. You can edit the link text in the input form that opens.
Your administrator can configure the system such that the function Edit link text is not shown in enaio® webclient and in enaio® mobile.
Deleting a Link
Links can also be deleted again. You can also find the delete feature in the Locations, links, and references overview display (see Overview of all Filing Locations, Links, and References).
To delete a link, select the corresponding link in the overview display and call up the Delete link feature in the context menu.
