The In-tray
All objects that have already been created in yuuvis® RAD but have not yet been filed in the yuuvis® RAD filing system are managed in the In-tray. The in-tray temporarily stores the objects that have not yet been filed. For this reason, you can initially only create the objects; you can finish filing the objects later on.
You can open the in-tray via the Main menu > In-tray on the yuuvis® RAD bar or via the In-tray icon on the yuuvis® RAD bar. A number on the In-tray icon indicates how many objects are currently in the in-tray.
In the case of smaller monitors or browser windows (<600 pixels wide), the Favorites, In-tray, Inbox and User documentation icons are hidden in order to better display the yuuvis® RAD bar.
The in-tray shows the objects to be filed list on the left and the filing area on the right.
Objects To Be Filed List
Objects that have not yet been filed in the yuuvis® RAD filing system will be shown in the list area of the in-tray as objects to be filed. This list can be refreshed, filtered, and sorted. The following functions are available:
|
Updates the list of objects to be filed. |
|
Filters the list by object type. The count of the filtered objects is shown in the footer of the list. Active filters are highlighted by means of a colored filter icon in the header area of the list. The count of the filtered objects is shown in the footer of the list. To remove a filter, click the Reset filter button in the open filter dialog. |
|
Sorts the list in ascending or descending order by title or date. Active sortings are highlighted by means of a colored sorting icon in the header area of the list. To remove a sorting, click the Clear sorting icon in the open sorting dialog. |
|

The list of objects to be dropped contains various list entries that each have a specific meaning.
-
Entries without an object type icon and with the note Object type not yet selected are objects that still need to be assigned an object type before filing.
-
Entries indicated by in the general filing location are objects that were filed in the main folder of the yuuvis® RAD filing system.
-
Entries indicated by filing location specified are objects that are filed in a specific folder of the yuuvis® RAD filing system.
-
Entries that are indicated by 1 file are objects to which a document file was assigned.
-
Entries that are indicated by 2 files and greater are a set of objects that were created via drag and drop or copy and paste and that were filed as a batch (see Uploading Files as a Batch).
-
Entries that are indicated by no file are objects to which a document file can be assigned still, for example, from the Windows file system or using a yuuvis® RAD template.
-
Entries without any indication are objects to which document file cannot be assigned, for example, folders, forms, and data records.
The Filing Area
You can edit created objects in the filing area so that you can then file them in the yuuvis® RAD filing system.
You can use the filing area
Objects created via the yuuvis® bar do not yet have a document file. You can add this document file to the object in the filing area. Your rights in the system and the configuration of the object types determine whether you can add document files or not and which templates you can use. The following options are available for adding:
-
Upload file
The Uploading Files section describes how to create an object in yuuvis® RAD using a file from the Windows file system.
-
Select template
The Creating Document Files from a Template section describes how to create an object in yuuvis® RAD using a template.
-
Without file
The Adding a Document File Later section describes how to assign a file to an object in yuuvis® RAD later on.
An object type is not yet assigned when creating objects using drag and drop or copy and paste. You can assign the object type in the filing area. Your rights in the system and the configuration of the object types determine which object types you can assign.
If you have assigned an object type to one or more objects in the clipboard, you can correct this assignment as long as the objects have not been permanently stored. To do this, click the Reset object type button in the header of the filing area. The list of permitted object types is then available again for object type reassignment.
The Uploading Files section describes how to upload an object in yuuvis® RAD via drag and drop or copy and paste.
You have the option of entering and/or editing the metadata of the created object in the filing area. Metadata fields that are prepopulated by the object type definition are indicated by a df. Fields that are indicated by an ex extract the metadata from the document file's metadata. The Metadata section describes your options for maintaining metadata in yuuvis® RAD.
If you have accordingly edited a created object in the in-tray, you can finish the object creation process using the File and File and Open buttons in the header of the filing area. The object will be filed in the yuuvis® RAD filing system when you click the File button and you can continue to work in the in-tray, whereas the in-tray is closed when you click the File and Open button and the object view on the object’s filing location is opened.
The content of e-mail attachments is not shown in the content preview in the filing area.
Deleting Objects That Have Not Been Filed
If you want to remove objects not yet filed from the list or from yuuvis® RAD, select the corresponding object from the list and click the Recycle bin icon in the header of the filing area, or select the Delete action in the Actions menu.
Under the default yuuvis® RAD client settings, temporarily stored objects will be deleted after two days. This time period can be changed by the administrator.
Adjusting the Layout
You can change the layout of the areas (see Hiding and Undocking Areas). You can also change the arrangement of the aspect areas to your liking (see Object Aspects).
