Hiding and Undocking Areas
yuuvis® RAD client offers you various options to customize the layout of your desktop system:
You can find the undock function in the content preview (see The Content Preview). The Undock function is available whenever the contents of a document are displayed in the content preview.
If you switch view, e.g., if you select a different document or if you change to a different area of yuuvis® RAD client, the content preview remains undocked and shows the content of the new selected document. The same applies if you have multiple tabs open.
You cannot save the setting to keep the content preview undocked.
To dock and undock the content preview, follow these steps
-
Select a document in a hit list or in one of the views described above.
A preview of the content of the document is shown in the Content aspect area (content preview) in the object area.
-
Click the Undock icon in the content preview.
The content preview will open in a separate browser window that you can move anywhere on the screen.
-
To close the browser window again, click the Close icon in the undocked browser window.
The content preview will be docked again.
If you required more space when editing metadata forms or for the content preview, for example, you can hide the headers in the yuuvis® RAD client in different views.
When you press Ctrl+Ctrl+V the first time, the yuuvis® RAD bar is hidden. If you press Ctrl+Ctrl+V a second time, the header is hidden in different views. If you want to restore the original view of yuuvis® RAD, press Ctrl+Ctrl+V a third time.
You can change the size of the individual areas in the yuuvis® RAD client by moving the separator bars.
To do this, move your cursor over a separator bar until the Double chevron icon appears. Now click and hold the left mouse button and move the separator bar to the desired position. Release the left mouse button once the separator bar is in the correct position and the area is the size you want.
The position of the separator bars is saved when you exit the view and is also available to you after restarting yuuvis® RAD client.
You can also hide the areas in yuuvis® RAD client by moving the separator bars.
To do this, move your cursor over a separator bar until the Double chevron icon appears. Now click and hold the left mouse button and move the separator bar to the edge of the area, before releasing the left mouse button again. The separator bar then changes color and the area is hidden
The position of the separator bars is saved when you exit the view and is also available to you after restarting yuuvis® RAD client.
You can show hidden areas again by dragging the highlighted separator bars away from the edge of the area.
In addition to customizing the layout, you can also change the appearance of your hit lists (see Modifying Hit Lists and Configuring Hit Lists) and the arrangement of the object aspects (see Object Aspects).
How to show/hide the content preview in the editing form for metadata tables is described in Tables in Metadata Forms.
The Microsoft Windows operating system offers practical functions for positioning several application windows side by side on one monitor.
Windows provides support if you only work with one monitor, but would like to position the undocked window next to a form area. If you slowly drag the window to the edge of your monitor after clicking the undock icon, the Windows interface changes and suggests a frame that covers half of the monitor. If you now let go of the undocked window, it will fill this area. All other activatable windows are displayed on the other half of the monitor. After selecting the browser with yuuvis® RAD client, the windows are now side by side. The two window areas can be divided appropriately by moving the dividing line in the middle of the monitor.
