Modifying Hit Lists
The results of a search will be displayed in a hit list of all objects that were found. Depending on the configuration, the hit list will contain several columns with object properties such as type, title, description, editor, etc.
The view of a hit list always corresponds to the hit list configuration of the object type currently selected in the hit list.
You have the following options to adjust hit lists to improve order if they yield many results:
-
directly in the hit list using your mouse
-
in the Menu in header of a column (see Filtering Hit Lists)
-
in the Configuration menu in the header area of the hit list (see Configuring Hit Lists)
Direct Changes to Hit Lists
Using your mouse, you can make the following changes directly in a hit list:
-
Adjust column width by moving the column divider.
The change of column width will also affect other hit lists, provided that you use the same column there, too. If you have changed column widths, this change will be saved automatically when you switch views. In addition, these settings apply to all users who use the browser.
-
Adjust the sorting of a column by clicking the column title.
You can only use one sorting in a hit list directly. If you want to use several sorting sets at the same time, use the Configuration menu in the header area of the hit list (see Configuring Hit Lists).
No sorting is offered for fields of the type 'string long'.
-
Change the order of columns by dragging and dropping the column title horizontally.
-
Hide columns by dragging and dropping the column title into the empty header area.
-
Pin columns by dragging and dropping the column title into the left and right margins of the hit list.
-
Reset hit list adjustments (apart from changes to the column width) by clicking the Refresh icon in the header area.
Adjustments made using your mouse directly in the hit list will only be used once for the current hit list, with the exception of changes to the column width. Use the Configuration menu in the header area of the hit list column to save column configurations permanently (see Configuring Hit Lists).
The customization options for the layout of the hit list view are described on the page The Hit List View.
