Saving Searches
You can save searches. Saved searches let you quickly access frequently used search patterns. You can save queries for global searches, metadata searches, and object property searches in all combinations.
The saved search requests are displayed on the dashboard under the quick search input field and in Main menu in the Saved searches area.
-
Click the Search icon on the yuuvis® RAD bar.
The search dialog opens with the list of object types and the other search aspects.
If an earlier search entry is entered in the search criteria overview, you can clear the search fields via the Reset button. -
Enter the search criteria.
You have the following options of entering search criteria, which can be combined as needed:-
You can enter a search term in the search field.
After entering three or more characters, you will be shown a list of possible search terms.
-
You can tick the checkbox in the tab of the Object type search aspect for one or more object types.
-
You can enter or enable search criteria in the tabs of the search aspects Created, Modified, or Document file for one or more object property fields.
After entering three or more characters, you will be shown a list of possible search terms in the text input fields.
The entered search criteria are adopted in the search dialog in the Your search overview.
The count of expected hits changes based on the entered search criteria.
-
-
Click the Save button in the Your search search criteria overview to save the search request.
The edit menu of the search request that you want to save will appear in the main menu in the Saved searches area.
-
You have the option of correcting the search, adding additional search criteria, and canceling the creation of the saved search request in the edit menu.
You can enable the Search field icons in the edit menu of the search to determine whether the corresponding search field is shown or not when executing the saved search request as a dynamic search field for entering additional search criteria.
If a Search field icon is grayed out in the edit menu of the search request and cannot be enabled, then this dynamic field cannot be displayed and used to enter additional search criteria into saved search requests.
-
Enter a name for the saved search request in the edit menu of the search and click the Save button.
The name appears as the title of the search request in the list of saved search requests.
The search request can be used for future searches.
If you save a search that applies to a time period relative to the current date (e.g., 'yesterday,' 'last week,' 'last year'), future searches will also use the current date at the time of searching as a reference date. For example, a saved search for all objects from 'yesterday' will always return all objects from the day before.
If a search is saved by also searching for values in a metadata table, these search criteria are saved, but they are not displayed in the saved search and can no longer be edited.
Refer to Running Saved Searches for information on how to execute saved searches. Saved searches can also be:
-
edited (see Editing Saved Searches),
-
added to your favorites (see Adding Saved Searches to Favorites),
-
shared (see Sharing Saved Searches),
-
integrated into the dashboard (see Dashboard Customization Options).
The functionality of the saved searches can be modified by the administrator based on your specific system and might therefore be unavailable (see yuuvis® RAD client Modifications).
