Searching for Folders

enaio® client 10.10 »

Folder searches are carried out against type-specific folder index data and the folder's basic parameters.

Search for folders if you want to list folders and then go deeper into the folder structures.

Also search for folders if you are looking for entries in the index data. In a 'customer' folder, for example, you can search for all customers at a specific location.

Folder hit lists can be sorted as you would any other list. You can also set which index data fields will be shown as list columns.

Before starting the query, open the context menu of the search form and select the matching entry to calculate the number of hits go find out if your search criteria are suitable to produce a manageable hit list.

Hit List in the Folder Window

In the 'Settings' dialog (see 'Fields' area ), you can specify that a simple folder hit list is not opened but rather a folder window as described below. The folder window is located in the left navigation area and contains a list of all folders found. You might want to choose this option if your goal is to obtain only a few hits. Unlike the ordinary folder hit list, the hit list in the navigation area cannot be sorted.

Full-Text Search via Folders

The search form may contain a full text section. You can enter the terms you want to search for in the full-text index here. The full-text index contains all terms from the index data of folders. You can combine terms logically and use placeholders (see Full-Text Searches – Combinations and Placeholders).

To open the description, click Help – icon Help in the Full text area.
