Transferring Documents to the Internal Tray
The internal tray is used for caching documents that do not yet have a location in the enaio® filing system (see also Internal Tray).
The following methods are available for transferring documents to the internal tray:
You will find the Create icon beneath the object list. You can use it to transfer files from the local file system to the internal tray.
You need to assign a document type to the file when you transfer it. If the file type is unique and permitted, the file is automatically transferred and shown in the object list of the internal tray. In the case of ambiguous file types, the files need to be assigned to a main type in a menu that will open before they are shown in the internal tray.
If you want to transfer several image files at the same time, all files are combined into one document with several images. If the files that you want to transfer at the same time include several ambiguous file types, you need to specify the document types yourself in a selection dialog. If a file type is included that has not been configured or is not permitted, you will receive an error message and no file will be transferred.
The easiest way to transfer files to the internal tray of enaio® webclient and to enaio® webclient as a desktop application is to select a file in Windows Explorer and drag and drop it onto the desktop of the open filing tray. A drop zone appears where you can drop the file once you have dragged it onto the desktop of the open filing tray.

The following applies if you are using enaio® mobile:
The drag-and-drop function is not supported in enaio® mobile.
It is possible to use the optional component Outlook Add-In for drag and drop to transfer e-mails from the classic version of Outlook to the internal tray of enaio® webclient or enaio® webclient as a desktop application (see Filing e-mails from Microsoft Outlook via drag-and-drop).
The new Outlook and enaio® mobile are not supported by Outlook Add-In for drag and drop.
It is possible to use the optional component enaio® outlook-web-add-in to transfer e-mails from the new Outlook to the internal tray of enaio® webclient or enaio® webclient as a desktop application.
enaio® outlook-web-add-in does not support the classic version of Outlook.
Synchronizing Trays Between the Clients
Documents that you have transferred to the internal tray in enaio® webclient, in enaio® webclient as a desktop application, and in enaio® mobile are synchronized with the filing tray in enaio® client. This also applies vice versa for documents that are temporarily saved in enaio® client in the filing tray.
Restrictions
Documents that you have edited using enaio® Office Add-In NG cannot be transferred to the internal tray, but can only be temporarily saved in the external tray of desktop application of enaio® webclient.
Documents in the internal tray that you edit using enaio® Office Add-In NG cannot be saved as a new variant or as a PDF variant, as variant administration is not available in the internal tray.
E-mails that you want to file in enaio® using enaio® Outlook Add-In NG or enaio® GroupWise Add-On NG require a location in the enaio® filing system, which is why they cannot be transferred to the internal tray.
enaio® supports file extensions with more than ten characters or with Unicode characters.
Please note that the maximum supported file size depends on a number of a different factors. This includes the file type, the file content, the specific use case, and the client used.
