Sharing Templates
The administrator can disable the template function. If the template function is disabled, then the template object type will not be offered for searches in yuuvis® RAD client and no templates can be created, edited, or shared and no documents can be created from templates.
In order to allow other users in the system who do not have the functional right to manage templates to use a template, you will need to share it.
Apart from the creator, templates can also be shared by:
-
users who have the functional right to manage templates and
-
users or user groups who are entered in the metadata of a template in the Editable by field.
Users who have the functional right to manage templates and users or user groups who are entered in the metadata of a template in the Editable by field can use templates without being assigned to them. Nevertheless, it is recommended to share the templates with users or user groups that are entered in the Editable by field but do not generally have the functional right to manage templates. If these users or user groups are removed from the Editable by field, they can no longer use the template if they were not previously assigned the template.
To share a template, follow these steps
-
Open the object view of a template that you can edit.
The templates that you can use or edit can be found using the search dialog by searching for the object type 'templates'.
-
Click Actions >General > Share.
The Share dialog opens.
-
In the dialog, enter the desired users or user groups with whom you wish to share the template.
-
Click Save.
The template is made available to the selected user group when the object types specified in the metadata of the template are created.
The template is indicated by a Shared icon in the header of the object area.
