Actions and Processes in yuuvis® RAD
In yuuvis® RAD, actions and processes are available for processing or mapping business objects (e.g., folders and documents) and work processes. While actions usually perform individual functions such as copying, downloading, or deleting, processes in yuuvis® RAD client depict work processes that consist of a series of interrelated activities and work items (see Processes and Tasks With and Without an Object Reference).
In yuuvis® RAD client, a distinction is made between processes with an object reference and processes without an object reference:
-
Actions with an object reference
are actions that refer to a specific business object, for example, a document or a folder. You can start actions with an object reference via the Actions menu of a selected object (see The Actions Menu).
-
Actions without an object reference
are actions that do not refer to a specific business object, e.g., vacation requests. You can access actions without an object reference via the Start process icon on the yuuvis® RAD bar.
-
Processes with an object reference
are processes that refer to a specific business object, for example, a document or a folder. The relevant object is stored in the process file when the process is started. You can start actions with an object reference via the Actions menu of a selected object (see Starting Processes with an Object Reference).
-
Processes without an object reference
are processes that do not refer to a specific business object, for example, vacation requests. You can start processes without an object reference via the Start process icon on the yuuvis® RAD bar. Depending on the type of process without an object reference, you can add documents and lists to business objects in the process file at a later stage (see Starting Processes Without an Object Reference).
