The Root Object

enaio® coLab 11.10

The root object in enaio® coLab is the object on the basis of which a project room was set up in enaio® (see Creating Project Rooms). These can be folders and registers in the enaio® filing system that have been shared for a coLab project. All other objects below the root object in the enaio® filing system – which can be registers and documents – are mirrored in the coLab project room.

Conversely, all files added from the local file system in the project room are mirrored in the enaio® filing system.

Highlighting of Root Objects in enaio®

Folders and registers that have been shared with external users in enaio® using enaio® coLab are specially highlighted (see Creating Project Rooms). The top object of these specially highlighted folders and registers is the root object, on the basis of which the corresponding project room was set up.

Finding Root Objects in enaio®

Each project space has its own root object in enaio®. You can show it if you want to add folders to a project room or delete them from it, for example. The following options are available to show the root object:

Using an *.os reference file to show the root object

enaio® client, enaio® webclient as a desktop application, or enaio® mobile users can use an *.os reference file to show the root object in their respective client.
To show the root object, follow these steps
1. In enaio® coLab, open the project room whose root object you are looking for by clicking the tile of the required project room on the Project rooms home screen.
  
  If you selected the Slim, Slim +, or Horizontal menu type, you first have to click the Home icon in the main navigation before you can click the Project rooms icon in the submenu that opens.
  If you selected the Overlay menu type, you first have to click the Main navigation icon in the coLab header before you can click the Project rooms icon in the main navigation bar that opens.

2. Open the settings view in the project room by clicking the Settings icon in the main navigation.
3. Click the entry (Download reference file (*.os)) in the General settings area.
  
  Depending on your browser configuration, a dialog will appear for filing an *.os reference file in the local file system or for editing using locally installed applications.
4. Click the Open button in the browser dialog.
  
  As an alternative, you can save the *.os reference file in the local file system and double-click to open it there.
The enaio® application installed on your computer (enaio® client, enaio® webclient as a desktop application, or enaio® mobile) with the location of the root object appears.

Depending on the configuration of your operating system, you may need to log in to enaio®.
enaio® webclient does not support *.os reference files.
Using a webclient URL to show the root object

enaio® webclient users can use a webclient URL to show the root object in their browser.
To show the root object, follow these steps
1. In enaio® coLab, open the project room whose root object you are looking for by clicking the tile of the required project room on the Project rooms home screen.
  
  If you selected the Slim, Slim +, or Horizontal menu type, you first have to click the Home icon in the main navigation before you can click the Project rooms icon in the submenu that opens.
  If you selected the Overlay menu type, you first have to click the Main navigation icon in the coLab header before you can click the Project rooms icon in the main navigation bar that opens.
