Editing Tasks

Tasks can be edited by any project member in the tasks view. You can open the tasks view by clicking the Tasks icon Tasks icon in the main navigation.

It is possible that the tasks view and the task area on the project’s overview page have been hidden in the settings of enaio® coLab (see The General Settings Area).

Click the More actions icon More actions icon in the task table in the row of the task you wish to edit in order to edit a task later on. The following functions are available to you in the drop-down menu that opens:

  • Edit task icon Edit task

    In the Edit task dialog, you can change the title and description of the task, due dates, and responsibilities. The assignment of a due date or a responsibility as well as a task description is not mandatory, which means that you can also leave these fields blank. If you no longer want to assign the task to a user, click the Remove icon Remove icon next to the user name entered.

    Click the Apply button to conclude the entry. The changed data is immediately shown in the task table and, if the changed task was assigned to a project member, also on the project’s overview page of this project member.

    If the assignment to a task was changed, then this project member will also be informed of the assignment to the task by e-mail, provided this has been configured accordingly in the user settings of the project room (see User settings > E-mails).

    No e-mail address is stored in enaio® coLab when registering via social media accounts such as Google, LinkedIn, and Microsoft. For this reason, notifications such as those regarding assigned tasks are not possible.

  • Delete task icon Delete task

    You can delete tasks in the tasks view in the following ways:

    • Delete tasks in the task table

      Clicking the Delete task icon Delete task icon in the drop-down menu will clear the selected task from the task table after a confirmation dialog. Assigned tasks are no longer shown on the project’s overview page of the respective project members after the tasks have been deleted.

    • Delete tasks with the task group

      Deleting the task group means that all tasks assigned to this task group are also deleted.

      Click the More actions icon More actions icon in the row of the task group and then Delete task group icon Delete task group in the drop-down menu that opens in order to delete a task group. The selected task group and the tasks it contains are deleted after a confirmation dialog.

      If project members were assigned tasks from the task group, then the task group and the tasks contained in it are no longer shown on the project’s overview pages of these project members after the task group has been deleted.

      Deleted tasks cannot be restored.

 

If the features described above are not available to you, then it may be because you have been assigned a user-defined role that does not contain the corresponding rights. Contact a coLab administrator or the project room owner if you have any questions or if you need these rights.
