The Tasks View
Every project room has its own Tasks view. The tasks view gives you an overview of the tasks created in the project room. You can open the tasks view by clicking the
Tasks icon in the main navigation.
You can create, edit, and delete tasks and task groups in the tasks view. You can also assign tasks to project members, set deadlines, and mark them as completed. You can find detailed documentation on working with tasks in enaio® coLab in Creating Tasks.
It is possible that the tasks view and the task area on the project’s overview page have been hidden in the settings of enaio® coLab (see The General Settings Area).
The tasks view is divided into the Task group and
Task areas. If you click the
Minus or
Plus icon in the header of the areas, you can collapse or expand them.
The
Task group Area
The task groups are used to manage many tasks in a structured way. The list of task groups can be sorted by clicking the header of the list. You must first create a task group in order to create a task. Each project member can create, edit, and delete task groups.
The following functions are available to you in the Task group area:

Clicking the Plus icon in the header of the task groups list will open an input form in which you can create a new task group.

Clicking the More actions icon in the row of a task group will open a drop-down menu with the following functions:

Clicking the Edit task group icon in the drop-down menu will open an input form in which you can rename the selected task group.

Clicking the Delete task group icon in the drop-down menu will delete the selected task group after a confirmation dialog. Deleting the task group means that all tasks assigned to this task group are also deleted.
The
Task Area
The tasks of a task group are listed as a table in this area. You can also filter and sort the table. You will find the filter input field, which is above the table. To sort, click in the header of a column.
You have to select the corresponding task group in the Task group area to view the tasks of another task group. The following functions are available to you in the
Task area:

Clicking the Plus icon in the header of the task table will create new tasks. In the input form that opens, you can create a new task, assign it to project members, and set deadlines.
The icon is only active once you have selected a task group. you might need to first create a task group before you can use the function (see Creating Tasks).

If you click the Chevron icon at the start of a task entry in the table, the description of the task is shown in the drop-down menu that opens.

The first column in the task table contains checkboxes for indicating completed tasks. If you activate a checkbox, the corresponding task is crossed out and the More actions icon is deactivated.

Clicking the More actions icon in the row of an uncompleted task will open a drop-down menu with the following functions:

If you click the More actions icon in the row of the task group name in the drop-down menu and then the
Edit task icon in the drop-down menu that opens, you can edit the selected task and adjust the title, description, due date, and user assignment.

If you click the More actions icon in the row of the task group name in the drop-down menu and then the
Delete task icon in the drop-down menu that opens, the selected task will be deleted after a confirmation dialog.

If a task is linked to a file, the task entry is indicated by a File attachment icon. Clicking the icon will open the attachments preview in a new window and the file contents are shown. Various editing features are available to you in the attachments preview depending on your rights (see Content Preview).
If the features described above are not available to you, then it may be because you have been assigned a user-defined role that does not contain the corresponding rights. Contact a coLab administrator or the project room owner if you have any questions or if you need these rights.
