Content Preview

The content preview is a PDF-based preview of the contents of a selected document. The document contents are rendered to a PDF and shown until you select another object.

In enaio® coLab, there are two variants of the content preview that are used:

• Content preview in the files view

  If you select a file in the directory structure in the Files view, the content of the selected file is shown in the content preview on the right-hand side of the desktop. Nothing is shown in the content preview for selected folders or other objects from which no PDF could be rendered.

  The content preview offers various functions of its own. The functions specific to the content preview will vary from browser to browser. However, in general, all browsers offer the following handy functions in the content preview:

  Icon	Function	Description
  	Search function	The content preview allows you to search through text files without opening the file. To search through a text file, click the Magnifying glass icon in the content preview menu bar (Ctrl+F in Chrome). In the search form that appears, you have the option of jumping forwards or backwards from hit to hit by clicking with the mouse. highlighting all hits in the preview by activating a button. using case-sensitivity in the search by activating a button.
  	Print function	Depending on the browser you are using, you will find the print function in the menu bar (Chrome) or in a drop-down menu (Edge and Firefox) of your content preview.
  Ctrl+C Ctrl+V	Copy function	The content preview allows you to also select text passages in text files directly in the preview using the mouse and to transfer them to other files via the Windows clipboard using copy and paste (Ctrl+C > Ctrl+V).
  and	Export function	You can also download the document content shown in the content preview to your local file system. You will be offered the PDF generated by the content preview for download. In Edge and Firefox, select the Save function. If you are using Chrome, choose the Download function.

• Content preview with additional coLab functions

  On the Overview page of a project and in the Tasks and Upload status views, a version of the content preview is used that offers additional coLab functions for editing the displayed documents.

  You can open the content preview on the project overview page and in the tasks view by clicking a File attachment icon in the message list or in the tasks table.

  If an antivirus program has been integrated into your enaio® coLab system, the advanced content preview is also available in the Upload status view. You can open the content preview there by first clicking the More actions icon in the line of an upload entry and then the Open preview icon in the dropdown menu that appears.

  Icon	Function	Description
  	Download file	Downloads the shown file to the local file system (see Downloading Files and Folders).
  	Replace file	Replaces the shown file with a file from your local file system (please note the special features when replacing files; see Replacing Files). This function is only available to standard project members, project room owners, and project members with a corresponding user-defined role.
  	Create task	Creates a task that is linked to the shown file (see Creating Tasks).
  	Create message	Creates a message that is linked to the shown file. (see Creating Messages)
  	Rename file	Lets you rename the shown file (please note the special features when renaming files; see Renaming Files and Folders). This function is only available to standard project members, project room owners, and project members with a corresponding user-defined role.
  	Go to file	Opens the file view with the filing location of the shown file (see The Files View).
