Creating Roles

You create roles as part of a project in yuuvis® RAD designer.

To create roles, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Projects area via the View ribbon tab.

    The Projects area displays a list of all open projects.
    A search field is available as a filter option for searching across all open projects, which restricts the display.

  2. In a project, select the New role function from the context menu of the Roles area.

  3. Enter a name and click Create.

    4. The role is created, displayed in the Roles area, and opened.

  4. The desired object type rights and functional rights are assigned.
  5. Save the project.

You can assign a description to roles on the Role ribbon tab. The description is displayed for the roles in the yuuvis® RAD management-studio rights management.

The changes will become effective once you activate the project on the server. New roles can then be assigned in yuuvis® RAD management-studio users and groups.

When deleting roles, the system does not check whether groups or users are assigned in yuuvis® RAD management-studio. Deleted roles are no longer shown in yuuvis® RAD management-studio.

Changes made to roles are immediately applied to all users and groups these roles are assigned to.
