Copying Objects and "Copy to Clipboard"
The Actions menu in yuuvis® RAD client provides the Copy to clipboard and Copy actions (see The Actions Menu). What is the difference between these two actions?
Copy to Clipboard Action
The Copy to clipboard action copies URL links from one or more selected objects (for example, folders and document files) to the Windows clipboard. You can insert these URL links into various applications in Windows and use them.
If your yuuvis® RAD client is connected to yuuvis® RAD agent, then you can also use the Copy to clipboard action to copy document files to the Windows file system in the original file format or as a PDF.
Copy Action
The Copy action copies one or more documents to the yuuvis® RAD client clipboard. You can insert the documents elsewhere in one or more locations in the yuuvis® RAD filing system as a copy or a link document in the next step (see Link Documents).
Once you have copied the documents to yuuvis® RAD, a Copy icon with the number of documents copied to the yuuvis® RAD clipboard will be shown on the yuuvis® RAD bar.
If you click the Copy icon on the yuuvis® RAD bar, the menu of the yuuvis® RAD clipboard appears. All documents on the clipboard are listed in the menu. You have the option of removing the copied documents from the clipboard in this menu, or you can insert them as a copy or a link document in the yuuvis® RAD filing system.
Copied documents will remain in the yuuvis® RAD clipboard until
- new documents are copied to the yuuvis® RAD clipboard,
- new documents to be moved are cut, or
- yuuvis® RAD client is closed.
