Creating Documents with Templates
enaio® supports the use of templates. You can use templates to regulate company processes and standardize the content and design of documents. If your administrator has configured document types in your enaio® system whose templates have been assigned, and you have the relevant permissions, you can then create documents using these templates.
It is not possible to create new documents when the navigation area is hidden.

Open a location.

Click or tap the
Create icon in the content area. Alternatively, you can also use the
New function in the
More actions menu or the context menu.
To open the context menu:

right-click, or press and hold in enaio® mobile, in the empty area in the content area.

select a folder or register in the navigation area of the filing location and then right-click, or press and hold in enaio® mobile, the entry.
The following applies if you are using enaio® mobile on a smartphone:
On smartphones, the navigation and content areas are not placed next to each other due to space constraints. You can switch to the navigation area by tapping the
Register tree icon in the title bar of the filing location. Tap the
Arrow icon to return to the content area.
The selection menu containing the available register and document types opens.

Click or tap on the required document type in the selection menu.
For module-spanning document types, you must assign a module to the document in a further selection menu.
The Creation dialog with an index data form and an Add content area with a
Plus icon will open in the workspace.

Complete the index data form in the Creation dialog.

In the Add content area, click or tap on the Select template tab and select a template.
User settings in the template selection dialog, such as sorting columns and selecting a template, are saved automatically. In the case of document types without templates, the Select template tab is not displayed.
The following applies if you are using enaio® mobile on a smartphone:
On smartphones, open the Add content area by tapping the
Plus icon in the title bar of the Creation dialog.

Click or tap on the
Save icon.
The document is created and displayed in the content area of the filing location.

Use a search to generate a hit list of folders or registers (see Folder and register search).

Select the folder or register in the hit list where you want to create the document.

Open the context menu.

Click or tap on the
New icon in the context menu.
The selection menu now opens.

Click or tap on the required document type in the selection menu.
For module-spanning document types, you must assign a module to the document in a further selection menu.

In the Add content area, click or tap on the Select template tab and select a template.

Save icon.
You are now shown a message indicating that the new document has been created at the selected location.
The hit list opens again.
If you use a template from your enaio® system and want to work with Microsoft Office 365, first create a document following one of the above procedures and then edit it in Microsoft Office 365 (see Collaborating on Editing Documents with Microsoft Office 365).
