Installing enaio® webclient as a desktop application

You will need to install desktop application of enaio® webclient (enaio® webclient-app) if you want to use the functions that allow you to access applications in the local Windows operating system in enaio® webclient. You do not need to have administrative rights to install enaio® webclient as a desktop application.

The following options are available for installing the desktop application of enaio® webclient:

  • Via your browser

    With this installation method, you download an installation package from your browser to your local computer via enaio® webclient and run it there.

    The administrator can disable the setting that allows users to download the installation program (see Administrationskonsole Link extern - Symbol).

  • Using an MSI package

    With this installation method, your administrator installs the desktop application of enaio® webclient using an MSI package. This method also offers the option of transferring your profiles, including your personal login data, during the installation process so that the login form is pre-filled the first time you come to log in (see also Logging In Using enaio® webclient as a desktop application).

Updates

Updates for enaio® webclient as a desktop application can be handled in different ways:

  1. By your administrator. The administrator installs the updates in the background, so you do not even notice the process.

  2. By the desktop application of enaio® webclient. You will be notified of a pending update and will need to confirm the update.

If you have installed enaio® webclient as a desktop application on your computer for all users, then you need administrator rights in order to enable the automatic application of updates for all users in the background.

Different Clients on One PC

If you have installed enaio® client and the desktop application of enaio® webclient, enaio® client has priority over the desktop application of enaio® webclient, for example, during the transfer of data from the enaio® system.
