enaio® webclient provides limited user administration. It enables you to create and edit users, as well as define which groups they are assigned to. Other settings cannot be changed.

Only the configuration of the user administration in enaio® webclient is described here.

User administration in enaio® webclient is only available to users with supervisor rights and must be enabled.

The user administration function in enaio® is used to create users who normally only work with enaio® webclient. Therefore, fewer user properties can be specified here than via the user administration in enaio® administrator. For the same reason, users are by default only assigned the system roles that are required to work with enaio® webclient.

Basic settings for user properties, for example requirements for passwords, or character checks for name information set up in enaio® administrator or other components, also apply here.

The following user properties can be configured:

Property Description
Login name*

Corresponds to the name in enaio® administrator.

Once saved, the log in name cannot be changed.
User name Corresponds to the full name in enaio® administrator.
Password*

If the 'One-time password' feature is enabled in enaio® enterprise-manager, users must change the password the first time they log in to enaio® webclient. This mechanism does not take effect if the user's authentication is against Windows.
Repeat password* Corresponds to password verification in enaio® administrator.
Locked

Lock or unlock user account.

Locked users are not shown in user lists.
Validity period

Activate validity period, by default "3 days from now".

The validity period can be extended in enaio® administrator. Once saved, the validity period can no longer be edited in enaio®.
E-mail E-mail address of the user
Description Corresponds to the comment in enaio® administrator.

Properties marked with * must be specified; the others are optional.

By default, newly created users are assigned to the STANDARD group and have the following system roles that are relevant for enaio® webclient:

The system roles that are assigned are specified in the osrest.web.systemroles.properties configuration file located in the <AppConnectorInstallDir>\configuration directory.

You can get a current version of the configuration file through a download.

You can edit which system roles are assigned to whom.

Modify the osrest.web.systemroles.properties configuration file located in the <AppConnectorInstallDir>\configuration directory to edit system roles.

  1. Open the osrest.web.systemroles.properties configuration file.

    Always use ISO-8859-1 or Windows-1252 for character encoding, never UTF-8.

  2. Enter a new system role based on its ID, or remove an existing one.

    You can freely choose the string for the system roles. However, the string must be unique and contain the correct system role ID.

  3. Save the configuration file.

    4. Changes to the configuration file are applied immediately.

You can use the enaio® administrator user administration to add or edit all user properties that are not defined in enaio® webclient later.
