enaio® client Network Installation

enaio® 11.0 »

The MSI package enaio_client_netsetup.msi performs a network installation on computers to access the shared network folder of a client installation.

Network installations of enaio® client are only possible for ANSI installations.

It sets up the required components, registries, and program shortcuts to the enaio® client of the shared network folder.

The following requirements must be met before installing the MSI package:

  • enaio® server is installed, started, and provides an IP port.
  • MSI installations require administrator rights and should be carried out using an administrator command line when user account control is enabled.
  • The installation requires that the local system user have read rights to the directories of the enaio® client of the shared network folder.
  • The user computers have read rights to the directories of the enaio® client of the shared network folder.
  • enaio® server and the MSI package to be installed have the same version.
  • .NET Framework 4.8 is installed.

The MSI package enaio_client_netsetup.msi can be found under \Prerequisites\ in the installation data.

Installation

Before installing the MSI package, the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package (x86) must be installed on all computers in the version corresponding to your operating system language.

Use the install.cfg file to configure access to the workstations before executing the network installation MSI package. The install.cfg file is found in the installation directory.

The install.cfg file has the following structure:

[INSTALL]

Directory=\\<Fileserver>\<share name>\client32

'Share name' is the name of the shared 'clients' installation directory of the enaio® client installation.

When you have made all the modifications, you can distribute the network installation MSI package to all computers that are to be set up as enaio® client workstations.

Use the MSI package to also perform updates and uninstallations. Registration of the previously set up components is consequently undone by default.
