enaio® editor 10.10 »

enaio® editor is initially started with the default settings that you can edit via the File > Settings menu.

The settings dialog is divided into six tabs.

The 'Maximum database field length' Tab

Here you specify the maximum number of characters which your database allows for a text field. enaio® editor automatically corrects new entries for the field length of dialog elements which have exceeded the specified maximum database length.

After making changes you can validate the settings for the object definition.

The value corresponds to the number of typable characters in ANSI installations. Data is stored as UTF-16 in Unicode installations, so only half the maximum size is available.

The 'Default grid settings' Tab

Here you can define default grid settings. For every form you may choose a different grid setting.

The 'min / max form size' Tab

New archive objects are created with the default size. The maximum form size cannot be exceeded and the minimum form may not be violated.

The 'Miscellaneous' Tab

The active object definitions from the database can be loaded automatically when starting enaio® editor.

You can select whether the label of dialog elements should be shown in the form via the property 'Label not visible'. In test mode it will always be hidden.

Forms with more than 240 elements from older versions can cause problems. They can only be edited if the Form with more than 240 dialog elements is fully editable option is enabled. This option then allows you to reduce the number of dialog elements or split up dialog elements using the 'Pagecontrol' dialog element.

Dialog elements typically consist of at least two elements: a field and a label field. Text fields consist of three elements. In addition to the field and label field, a text field also includes an element for a catalog or add-on button. This means, for example, that a maximum of 80 text fields are permitted on a form. If the maximum number of elements allowed is exceeded, a corresponding message will be shown.

If you enable Automatically save window layout of form window on closing, the last size setting will automatically be saved.

The 'Confirm' Tab

You can enable/disable the confirmation dialogs, especially for deletions.

The 'XSL selection' Tab

Here you can define an XSL for formatting the object definition file or specify that one XSL is selected at a time. The XSL formats the object definition for printing and for the table view.

The preset printobjdef1.xsl file is available in three languages: German, English, French.

The 'Output logging' Tab

The results from the check of and changes to tables will be displayed in the output window. Additionally, you can specify a file in which the results should be written.
