The Content Preview

yuuvis® RAD client 8.x »

You can use the content preview in the object area (Content aspect) to show a selected document file. Different content previews are used, depending on the file format of the document file.

Aspect areas can be hidden by the administrator. As a result, the functions described may not be available to you.

Opening the Content Preview

To open the content preview of a business object, select a document file in an object list such as a hit list, a folder view, or the different areas of the main menu. In the object area, the content preview of the selected document file is then displayed in the Content aspect.

Standard Content Preview

If no file-specific preview is used, the document rendered to a PDF by yuuvis® RAD is displayed in the PDF.js content preview by default (if no PDF could be rendered, nothing is displayed in the content preview). You can browse, rotate, and zoom in/out on the PDF.js preview. You can also use the Search icon Search icon to browse the content of the preview, select and copy text, rotate pages, and download PDF attachments. You can also print the content and thus practically download it.

Since the default content preview is a PDF conversion of the original document file, individual PDF functions, such as stamps or signatures, may not be displayed. Also, the layout of printouts may be different from that of the original. To print the document file correctly, download it via the Actions menu iconActions menu and print it with your local application.

Viewing E-mail Attachments

E-mails (*.eml files) are displayed in the native content preview of your operating system. The display of *.msg files is not supported.

E-mail attachments are shown with a Paper clip iconPaper clip icon in the content preview. The number shown on the Paper clip iconPaper clip icon indicates the number of attachments. If you click the Paper clip iconPaper clip icon, the files in the attachment will be displayed in an info box. Click a file name to show the attachment in the content preview. You can quit the attachment view by clicking the e-mail name in the info box and then the Close icon Close icon.

Undocking the Content Preview

You can undock the content preview from the browser and, for example, move it to a second monitor. The Undock icon Undock function is available whenever the contents of a document are displayed in the content preview. For details on how to undock the content preview, refer to Hiding and Undocking Areas.
