Object Search on the Home Screen

yuuvis® RAD client 8.x »

There are different search options available to you on the home screen of the yuuvis® RAD client. These include the quick search input field, the saved searches, and the Search icon Search icon for the search dialog (see yuuvis® RAD client Home Screen).

If you click the Search icon Search icon on the yuuvis® RAD bar, you can access the comprehensive search options of the search dialog, which are described in a separate section (see The Search Dialog).

Quick Search

You can search by search term or string in the metadata and in the content of folders and document files. You can combine the search with placeholders, additional terms, and operators (see Search Terms in yuuvis® RAD).

After you start entering two characters, yuuvis® RAD will show you a list of object types – with the count of hits you can expect – beneath the input field, instead of the saved searches. A hit list appears when you click one of the object types shown.

The number above the input field shows the entire number of hits, independent of the object type. The corresponding hit list appears when you click the number. You receive the same result if you press Enter in the search field to end the search input.

If you delete your entry in the quick search field, the saved searches are shown again.

Saved Searches

Saved searches are shown below the quick search, provided that you have created them and added them to your favorites (see Saving Searches). The shared saved searches that you have received and were also added to the favorites of the creator are also shown here.

If you click the first Saved searches button, the Saved searches area appears in the main menu, which is used for managing all saved searches (see Editing Saved Searches).

If you click the button of a saved search request, the search menu of the search appears. The other saved searches are hidden.

If the saved search request contains dynamic search fields, you can enter or select additional search criteria in the search menu. The count of expected hits changes based on the entered information.

As another option, you can also further edit the saved search requests in the search dialog by clicking the Open in search dialog button. Click Remove icon to close the search menu. The other saved searches are shown again.
