Projects in yuuvis® RAD designer

yuuvis® RAD designer 7.x »

Projects are the basis for modeling yuuvis® RAD.

Projects include:

  • Schema
  • The schema contains the data for the object types and forms.

  • Roles/rights
  • The roles contain the data for object type rights and functional rights.

Roles are assigned to users in yuuvis® RAD management-studio.

  • Scripts
  • Global scripts that can be accessed from scripts.

  • Process models
  • Process models for the business processes.

The models are managed in yuuvis® RAD management-studio.

  • Actions
  • Custom actions.

Actions can also be set up in yuuvis® RAD management-studio on the connected system.

Projects are created as project files, edited, and deployed on the server via yuuvis® RAD designer.

Creating a Project

Projects are created in yuuvis® RAD designer via the Start > New ribbon tab with the following properties:

Name

Project name. Max. 250 characters.

Special characters that are not allowed: slash, backslash, and question mark.

Path

The project folder from the settings is prepopulated.

The path for saving the project can be changed.

Template
  • Standard
  • Empty project with the sections 'Schema', 'Roles/Rights', 'Scripts', and 'Process Models'. Only the 'System Admin Role', 'System Global Admin Role', and 'System User Role' roles are included.

  • System snapshot
  • Project from the data of the project of a server.

Select the server connection if there are more than one connection configured in the settings.

  • Existing project
  • Copy of a project folder from your file system.

When yuuvis® RAD designer is started, the project file most recently opened by the specific user is opened again.

Copying Data Between Project Files

Data from project files can be copied and pasted into another project file. You can copy and paste object type groups, object types, fields of object types, process models, and roles via the context menu. Information about the consistency of the data is displayed when pasting it.

  • A copied object type has a reference to a catalog. You can choose whether or not the catalog is also copied.
  • A role has references to rights to object types. You receive a message and can only paste the role without these references.

The consistency check is always performed on the basis of the IDs of the objects.

Snapshots

A snapshot can be taken for quick access to schema, process models, scripts, and roles/rights from a project of a server and for data comparison. The snapshot data are opened read-only. All data can be copied and pasted into a project file. Just like when you are copying data between project files, information about the consistency of the data is displayed when pasting it.

You can take snapshots via the Start ribbon tab or the Snapshots area. They are displayed there and are indicated with the creation date.

Snapshots are not automatically saved. If you create a project based on a system snapshot, the Reload feature will not request the data again from the server; it instead reloads this from the project folder.
