Multi-Fields
Multi-fields on a metadata form allow multiple values to be entered. Multi-fields are supported in yuuvis® RAD for the following field types: Catalog, String, and ID (user/group class). The administrator defines which fields, if any, allow multiple entries and whether multi-fields can be edited.
Type | Permitted values | Entry |
---|---|---|
String | Free input | Enter value, press Enter |
ID (users/groups) | Only existing values | List of suggestions appears after two characters are entered; free input is not accepted. |
Catalog | Only existing values | List of suggestions appears after two characters are entered; free input is not accepted. |
Reference | Only existing values | A list of suggestions appears after three characters are entered; free input is not accepted. |
For multi-fields of the type 'string', values are only accepted if you confirm them by pressing Enter. In this case, the text is displayed in a chip. If a value is not accepted when you press Enter and the form is saved, then this value will continue to be displayed as not accepted in the field. This means that the value is not lost, and can still be accepted when you press Enter.
Value | Entry |
---|---|
Single value | Click the Remove icon. |
Last value | Press Ctrl+Backspace. |
All values | Press Ctrl+Del. |
You can open the metadata form of a business object, for example, by selecting an object in a hit list and viewing the Metadata aspect area (see Object Aspects).
