Business Objects in yuuvis® RAD
Business objects are all the objects organized in yuuvis® RAD, such as folders, data records, or documents. Every business object in yuuvis® RAD is based on an object type with specific metadata that can be maintained in metadata forms.
Folder objects can contain document objects. Document objects can also include document files such as text documents, e-mails, image files, etc.
A business object is always an instance of an object type with a filing location within the yuuvis® RAD organizational system.

An object type defines a business object via specific metadata, which can be used to locate and identify instances of the object type (folders or documents). Metadata is data that describes the properties and values of a business object. For example, the Invoice document object type is defined via the invoice date, invoice number, and vendor/customer.
The properties of object types are defined by the administrator based on the users’ requirements.

Object types are generally grouped together into object type groups (thematic groups like specialist applications or fields of use). The object type groups form the basis of the folder structure of the object types.
Within these groups, default settings can be specified for filing relations, defining the folder structure in which business objects are created and filed.
It is also possible to define cross-context object types that do not belong to an object type group. This is useful for object types with many potential uses. Business objects belonging to cross-context object types can be created in organizational structures belonging to any object type group if this is defined in the corresponding filing relations.

Business objects in yuuvis® RAD can also be folders. Folder objects can contain document objects. As a general rule, every object in the filing system is created within a folder.

Documents are business objects of a type that generally contains a document file in addition to the metadata.Document files can be text documents, e-mails, image files etc.
