Updating Services
For the microservices, as for other components, patches for troubleshooting and optimization are also provided within the enaio® versions.
To apply a patch, follow these steps:
-
Copy the \Service-Manager-Update directory located in the \Backend\ directory to the computers with microservices.
- Check whether the individual microservice directories of the existing installation under \Services\service-manager\apps do not contain any additional *.jar or *.zip files or backups.
-
Execute enaio_services_versionfix.exe from the copied \Backend\Service-Manager-Update directory.
Move or delete these, if necessary.
The microservices installed on the computer which are located in the update directory are updated.
The update is complete when the \Services\service-manager\update directory is emptied again. Then check the status of the services in enaio® services-admin.
Patches for Services
When services are updated, the configuration files are backed up from the \config directory and restored after the update.
Backup copies are saved in a backup<timestamp> directory with the ending bak.
If configuration files contain new parameters, the new configuration files are also saved in the backup directory and are given the extension dist.
If services are installed via the os_service-manager_setup.exe setup file later, then patches applied via enaio_services_versionfix.exe are undone in the process. You will need to apply the patches again afterwards.
If self-signed certificates were integrated, then they must be integrated again or the backup needs to be restored after running os_service-manager_setup.exe. The setup saves the JDK TrustStore in the backup directory of the installation of enaio® service-manager.
In order to enable access to data in enaio® services-admin, the browser cache must be deleted after updating enaio® service-manager so that the current data is shown.
