Customizing the Files View

You can customize the table with the directory structure in the Files view. The customizations are automatically saved for all project rooms of an coLab user. Open the files view by clicking the Files icon in the main navigation.

The following customization options are available to you:

• Sorting

  • Sorting columns

    To sort a column, click in the header of a column. The column is then sorted alphanumerically. Click the column header again to switch the sorting order. Icons next to the column name indicate the order. Only one column can be sorted at a time.

    The sorting order of a column is saved and is always available to the user, even after leaving the file view and in all other project rooms to which they have access.

    You have the following options to cancel the sorting order of a column:

    1. Sort another column.

    2. Click the Reset icon or Reset filter in the Table configuration menu.

  • Sorting the column order

    You can change the column order by holding down the mouse button and moving the column header to the desired position.

    The new sorting order of a column is saved and is always available to the user, even after leaving the file view and in all other project rooms to which they have access.

    You can click the Reset icon or Reset filter in the Table configuration menu to restore the original column order.

• Filter

  You will find the filter input field, which is situated in the center of the table header. Filtering of the table starts when the first character is entered. When filtering, the entries from all table fields are evaluated.

  The filter remains the same even if you change the folder in the directory structure. However, it is not saved when you leave the file view, for example.

  You have the following options to remove the filter:

  1. Delete the entries in the filter input field.

  2. Click the Reset icon or Reset filter in the Table configuration menu.

• Showing/hiding columns

  Open the menu for Table configuration in the table header in order to show or hide columns. In the menu, you now have the option to hide or show the columns again by activating and deactivating a checkbox.

  The settings are automatically saved and are always available to the user, even after leaving the file view and in all other project rooms to which they have access.

  You can cancel these settings as follows:

1. Click the Reset icon or Reset filter in the Table configuration menu.

2. Click the top checkbox in the Table configuration menu so that all columns are shown again.

Resetting Customizations

The following functions for resetting adjustments are available to you in the file view:

• Reset filter

  This function resets the filter in the directory structure table. Table rows that were previously filtered are visible again. Other customizations in the file view, such as column order or sorting, are not reset by this function.

• Reset

  Resets all customizations in the file view (column order or sorting, table size, hidden/shown columns, for example) to the original settings.
