Content Preview

enaio® coLab 11.10 »

The content preview is a PDF-based preview of the contents of a selected document. The document contents are rendered to a PDF and shown until you select another object. Nothing is shown in the content preview for selected folders or other objects from which no PDF could be rendered.

The content preview is available on the project overview page, in the tasks view, and in the files view:

  • Content preview in the files view

If you select a file in the directory structure in the files view, the content of the selected file is shown in the content preview on the right-hand side of the desktop.

The content preview also offers various functions. The preview functions in the header area of the content preview vary from browser to browser. However, in general, all browsers offer search, print, and export functions in the content preview (see below for a detailed description).

  • Content preview on the project’s overview page and in the tasks view

The content preview is also available on project’s overview pages and in the tasks view by clicking a File attachment icon File attachment icon in the message list or task table. The content preview is then opened in a dialog box.

In addition to showing the document content and the preview functions, the content preview in the dialog box in the footer offers you various coLab functions:

Searching File Contents

The content preview allows you to search through text files without opening the file.

To search through a text file, click the Search document icon Magnifying glass icon in the content preview menu bar (Ctrl+F in Chrome). In the search form that appears, you have the option of

  • jumping forwards or backwards from hit to hit by clicking with the mouse.

  • highlighting all hits in the preview by activating a button.

  • using case-sensitivity in the search by activating a button.

Printing files

Depending on the browser you are using, you will find the print function in the menu bar (Chrome) or in a drop-down menu (Edge and Firefox) of your content preview.

Exporting File Contents

The content preview allows you to also select text passages in text files directly in the preview using the mouse and to transfer them to other files via the Windows clipboard using copy and paste.
