'ocr' Service - Tesseract

Installation

Services are installedand updated via the os_service-manager_setup.exe file in the \Backend\Service-Manager directory.

Services are patched via enaio_services_versionfix.exe in the \Backend\Service-Manager-Update directory.

The service release contains the following changes, in addition to bug fixes.

Tesseract OCR Component

As an OCR component, Tesseract can be used as an alternative to ABBYY FineReader.

Tesseract is part of the 'ocr' service and does not need to be installed separately.

For new installations of enaio®, Tesseract is activated as an OCR component by default.

When updating the 'ocr' service, no configurations are changed and ABBYY FineReader remains activated as an OCR component. Changes to configurations are only necessary if Tesseract is to be activated instead of ABBYY FineReader.

Tesseract is configured via the ocr-prod.yml configuration file.

The 'TES' license is required to use Tesseract. The license is integrated via enaio® enterprise-manager and automatically managed by the 'license' service.

Navigation

Navigate through the help pages using the table of contents on the left. If it is not displayed when the window width is small, you can temporarily show it via the hamburger menu on the right.
