enaio® template-editor

enaio® 11.10 »

enaio® template-editor is part of enaio® data-transfer-ng as an add-in for Microsoft Word. The add-in includes enaio® template-editor and the function used to transfer index data in documents with controls created using enaio® template-editor.

enaio® template-editor must be activated at the workstation via one of the registry editor’s strings:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\OPTIMAL SYSTEMS\enaio\enaio data transfer NG String: TemplateEditorEnabled Value: true

enaio® template-editor adds controls into a Word document that are associated with an object type’s index data fields. Documents with controls can be integrated into enaio® client as templates. A data transfer can be used to fill and replace the controls with the corresponding index data when creating a document from a template.

enaio® template-editor is called via the Template editor button. enaio® template-editor accesses and displays the object definition via enaio® client. For multilingual object definitions, the language of the object definition for the display can be selected.

Creating Controls

  • Create a new document in Microsoft Word.

  • Call enaio® template-editor via the Template editor button.

  • Select a W-Document type from the object definitions by double-clicking it in the Settings tab.

The document type’s index data fields are listed.

  • Double-click an index data field.

An control for the index data field is inserted into the document where the cursor is positioned.

You can only insert controls for the selected document type’s index data fields.

Use the Unlock function to reset the W-Document type selection. This will delete all the controls that have already been inserted.

  • Select whether an automatic data transfer should be performed.

If the document is integrated into enaio® as a template or a document is created based on this document, then the data transfer can be performed automatically when creating the document. Without this setting, the user performs the data transfer via the add-in’s data transfer function.

  • Save the document.

You can insert a control for an index data field several times. All inserted controls with technical information are shown in the Fields tab. Clicking a control marks it in the document.

Controls can be formatted however you wish.

Transferring data for controls can only be done via the data transfer function of enaio® data-transfer-ng and cannot be done via the data transfer function of enaio® Office Add-In NG.
