Personalizing Work Items and Clearing Personalizations
A workflow model consists of several work items. Work item are personalized primarily for the purpose of administering responsibilities and preventing access conflicts.
Personalizing Work Items
You can personalize work items in the My incoming messages inbox. You can open the My incoming messages inbox via the Inbox icon in the main menu.
The following options are available for personalizing a work item:
If you open a work item in the My incoming messages inbox for editing, this work item is automatically personalized (also see Editing Work Items).
When you close a work item, it remains personalized and can only be accessed by you.
You can also personalize a selected work item in the My incoming messages inbox using the Personalize function found in the context menu of a selected workflow.
Right-click (enaio® webclient and enaio® webclient as a desktop application) or press and hold (enaio® mobile) to open the context menu of the search form.
The context menu can also be opened on smartphones by clicking the More actions icon found on each line.
Personalized work items are indicated in the workflow list with the Personalization icon.
The following applies if you are using enaio® mobile on a smartphone:
On smartphones, personalized work items are not indicated specifically as such. You can, however, use the Personalize and Clear personalization functions in the context menu of a selected work item to see whether it is personalized or not.
Personalized work items are no longer shown in the inbox My incoming messages of other users.
Clearing Personalizations
The personalization of a work item can be cleared in the following way:
You can also clear the personalization of a selected work item in the My incoming messages inbox using the Clear personalization function found in the context menu of the selected workflow.

The context menu can also be opened on smartphones by clicking the More actions icon found on each line.
If you report that you are out of office (see Reporting Absence and Presence), the personalization of the work item can be cleared so that it can be edited by other users with the appropriate rights (e.g., users with the same role and substitutes).

If a dunning period has been assigned to a work item, the personalization of the work item can be cleared once this period has elapsed so that it can be edited by other users with the appropriate rights (e.g., users with the same role and substitutes).

Personalizations can be automatically cleared after a specified dunning period has elapsed, if this is defined in the workflow model.
Process owners of a workflow can also clear the personalization of a work item when they assign a work item to other users or roles, for example (see Assigning Work Items).
If you forward a work item (see Forwarding Work Items), the personalization is also cleared.
