Message Types

enaio® coLab 11.0 »

Messages are one of the main features in enaio® coLab. All messages in a project room are listed on the project’s home screen. We differentiate between the following types of messages in enaio® coLab:

  • Messages created by project members

Project members can create messages in enaio® coLab on the project’s home screen and in the files view (see Creating Messages).

Messages created on the project’s home screen are true text messages. Messages created in the files view contain a link to the file from which the message was created. These messages are indicated by a Go to file icon 'Go to file' icon in the message list on the home screen. Clicking the Go to file icon 'Go to file' icon will open the files view with the filing location of the linked file. The linked file is also highlighted in the files view.

  • System messages

There are also messages in enaio® coLab that are generated automatically, in addition to the messages created by the project members:

    • Welcome messages

Welcome messages are created automatically by enaio® coLab when a user accepts an invitation and joins a project room. Welcome messages are shown in the message list on the project’s home screen.

    • Shared file notifications

Shared file notifications are automatically generated by enaio® coLab when a user shares a file in the files view. Shared file notifications are shown in the message list on the project’s home screen. They contain a link to the shared file. Clicking the Go to file icon 'Go to file' icon in the shared file notifications will open the files view and the filing location with the shared, highlighted file is shown. Clicking the Shared file 'Share file' icon of the highlighted file in the files view will show you the link to the shared file.
