Models

enaio® 11.0 »

Models are assigned to workflow families and administered in the model explorer. Open the model explorer via the workspace.

All created models are listed in Available models of the model area.

Deleted models are transferred to the Deleted models area and can there be deleted permanently or restored.

Creating Models

Models are created using the context menu or the New Model button.

Enter the name. The name does not need to be unique.

The new model is listed in the model explorer and has the status 'locked for editing by ...'.

Other users can open the model as read-only but cannot modify it. Only the user who has locked the model can make it accessible and activate it.

Only active models in the active organization can be used in enaio® client.

Copying Models

Regardless of the model's status, you can use the context menu to copy a model. All model data, including the associated forms, are copied.

'Copy of' is added to the beginning of the original name.

The model will be locked and can only be made accessible or activated by the user.

Forms associated with the original model are also copied. The name of the form is not changed.

Models can also be dragged with the mouse to the family directory of another workflow family. There, a copy is created, labeled, and locked.

Editing Models

Models are edited in the model editor. A user can only edit models that he or she has locked or shared. Other models can only be opened as read-only.

Use the Edit button, the context menu, or double-click a model to edit it. The model is then locked for other users until it is explicitly shared or activated.

You can also edit the active model if none of this model's processes are running. If processes are still running, first change the status to 'in use'. No user can then start a new process of this model. The model can only be edited once the last process has ended or has been deleted using enaio® administrator-for-workflow.

Use the following buttons in the toolbar to change the status of a model:

Enable

Disable

Release

Lock

Only active models in the active organization can be used in enaio® client. Only one of a workflow family's models can be activated. A model is automatically checked before its status is set to 'active'. If errors are found, the model will not be activated.

Verifying Models

A model is automatically validated before its status is set to 'active'. Use the Validate button or the context menu to check each model.

The function checks if all necessary data has been entered.

Validation does not guarantee that a model is error-free.

If errors have been found during validation, an error report is displayed.

This error report can be saved to a file in 'html' format.

Models containing errors cannot be set to 'active'.

Deleting Models

Deleted models are transferred to the Deleted models area. The data will not be removed until the model has been deleted permanently.

Models in the Deleted models area can be restored using the Restore button or the context menu. Then they will again be displayed in the Available models area.

You can only delete models which you can edit.

Workflow families can only be deleted after all models have been deleted permanently.
