enaio® capture
enaio® capture is a specialized workflow application for enaio® that allows for fast document capture as well as efficient scanning and indexing of information stored on paper. Due to state-of-the-art, professional methods and procedures, the modular application guarantees fast processing of your documents. What's more, the application integrates with current databases and LAN architectures. Using high-performance scanners, the application allows you to scan huge amounts of information. Barcode recognition and optical character recognition enable automatic indexing of captured information. Users carrying out capture processes are guided through the configured process steps and can validate captured data before it is imported into the archive. enaio® capture furthermore allows you to integrate individual validation programs.
Capture processes can be individually configured. For each receipt type, a process is configured in which the administrator defines an operational sequence and all individual settings. For example, incoming invoices are processed using barcode recognition and accounting forms are automatically indexed using OCR. The administrator's task is to specify the process step order when defining a process configuration and to decide which operations will be run automatically.
Specific hardware requirements may apply due to high performance scanners and automatic indexing with barcode and OCR recognition.
Several enaio® capture workstations can be configured. Communication takes place using the enaio® server.
Installation
enaio® capture must be installed exclusively by trained personnel, meaning by an OPTIMAL SYSTEMS' service technician or a sales partner of OPTIMAL SYSTEMS. Therefore, while basic installation conditions are explained in this manual, the actual installation procedure is not.
The MSI package enaio_capture_ansi.msi or enaio_capture_unicode.msi located in the directory \Frontend\Capture\ installs enaio® capture on the workstations.
The directory contains the file asinit.cfg. For example, in this file, the connection data to enaio® server can be entered before installation.
The following conditions must be fulfilled for a successful installation:
- To be started, enaio® capture requires valid licenses and a running enaio® server. Licenses are administered using enaio® enterprise-manager.
- After installation, changes to the security system must be made in enaio® administrator. This means that administrative and executive rights can be assigned to users of enaio® capture. Administrative users create configurations.
- ABBYY FineReader in at least version 11.8.5 or 12.4.3 is required.
- In Unicode installations, some components of enaio® capture are installed as both 32-bit and 64-bit components. For that reason, you need two identical data sources, one created with the 64-bit ODBC tool and one created with the 32-bit ODBC tool. If you are unable to obtain two identical data sources, install the corresponding Microsoft Database Access Engine found in the Prerequites directory of the installation data.
- The validation component requires Kofax components. If no Kofax scanning hardware was integrated, you must install the free retrieval engine. AXTWSCAN also needs at minimum the retrieval engine. In addition, make sure that after having installed the retrieval engine, the system variable PATH is set to \Kofax\imgctls\BIN. If it is not, you will need to set this system variable to the mentioned path.
- Scan and barcode components require installation and configuration of the respective versions of Kofax VRS Elite. Unicode characters cannot be used for file names and paths.
- If no Kofax engine is installed, the integrated barcode scanner ZBar can be integrated via AXICSRV or FineReader via AXFINER after scanning for barcode recognition.
When starting enaio® capture, the user name and password can be specified as command line parameters:
-uid |
User name |
-user |
For user names containing spaces: value in quotation marks, mask with quotation marks |
-pwd |
Password |
-password |
For passwords containing spaces: value in quotation marks, mask with quotation marks |
-n |
Do not show startup screen |
After having started enaio® capture, users can change the password from the ENAIO menu and set the language and color scheme for the workspace.
Requirements
In order to not to experience problems when working with enaio® capture, a user account has to fulfill at least the following prerequisites:
- Full access to the asindex\AXINDEX.DAT directory so that the access.tmp file can be created and deleted there.
- Read and write access to all *.cfg and *.ini files in the asindex\AXINDEX.DAT directory.
- Full access to the internal enaio® capture database
- Full access to the temp area of the user account and the local etc directory
- COM components and controls of third-party components must be registered.
enaio® capture Components and LDAP Login
If login is carried out using LDAP, the import cannot be run. In this case a login sequence including LDAP and enaio® user administration is needed at minimum. However, in this case the user in LDAP and the enaio® user administration must have identical passwords. For security reasons this usually is not the case.
In enaio® user administration you can instead set up a login pipe exception for the user who will run the import. This user has to be set up in both LDAP and the enaio® user administration, though the two passwords may differ.
It is configured in enaio® enterprise-manager.
